Changwon Special City Holds the 10th Architecture Awards Ceremony
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the awards ceremony for the 10th Changwon City Architecture Awards on November 29th in the City Hall's 3rd conference room.
The Changwon City Architecture Awards is an architectural cultural event held to discover outstanding buildings and encourage architecture. Marking its 10th anniversary this year, a student competition category was introduced to foster fresh and progressive ideas, allowing university students in Changwon to participate.
Prior to the event, the city held a judging committee composed of university professors and local architects to evaluate the submitted works in each category, ultimately selecting a total of 12 outstanding works across two categories.
At the awards ceremony, plaques and other honors were presented to the winners, including the grand prize winners in the new construction and student competition categories: ‘Changwon Library’ designed by Architecture Office Sito, and ‘Art museum of Harmony’ designed by a student from Gyeongnam National University, along with 10 other selected works.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “I sincerely congratulate all the awardees. We will do our best to ensure that many architects and students continue to present the city’s vision and fully express their creativity through the Changwon City Architecture Awards.”
