DS Danseok, HVO PTU Completion... SAF Raw Material Production Begins in Earnest
Securing an Annual Production Capacity of Approximately 300,000 Tons
Full-Scale Operation Starting December
"We Will Solidify Our Position as a Global Leader in Eco-Friendly Energy"
Global resource circulation leading company DS Danseok announced on the 25th that it held a completion ceremony for the hydrogenated vegetable oil pretreatment process (HVO PTU) at its Pyeongtaek Plant 1.
HVO PTU is an essential pretreatment process for producing HVO and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using waste cooking oil and low-grade oil byproducts as raw materials. DS Danseok invested approximately 37 billion KRW over one year and two months since August last year to expand the facility within the Pyeongtaek Plant 1 site.
DS Danseok began trial operations of the process last month and will start full-scale product production from next month. The annual pretreatment raw material capacity is about 300,000 tons. Starting with HVO PTU, DS Danseok plans to establish an SAF production base in Gunsan in the future.
