The event began with performances by the Uijeongbu Phil Chamber Ensemble and the Soriul Citizens Choir, followed by a video screening featuring the history of the kimchi-making event that started in 2006, along with interviews of donors and beneficiary organizations.
Next, appreciation plaques were presented to organizations that have consistently participated in donations and volunteer work over the past five years, and the event concluded with a kimchi delivery ceremony prepared with the precious donations.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I thank everyone who participated in the fundraising despite the economic recession. Thanks to the generous donations from many people this year, we were able to deliver 2,415 boxes of kimchi to vulnerable groups and social welfare facilities in the district. We will remember the precious hearts of the donors and continue to strive to foster a more active culture of sharing.”
