[Featured Stock] BridgeTec Emerges as Key Partner Amid MS Major Shareholder OpenAI and Google's 'Chrome' Acquisition Buzz
BridgeTek is showing strength. This is interpreted as being influenced by news that OpenAI is emerging as a strong candidate to acquire Google's web browser, Chrome.
As of 2:08 PM on the 21st, BridgeTek is trading at 5,400 KRW, up 6.93% from the previous day.
According to industry sources, the U.S. Department of Justice is reportedly pressuring Google to divest Chrome to resolve its monopoly in the online search market. If Chrome goes on the market, it is expected to be valued at up to 28 trillion KRW. Chrome holds a 66.7% share of the global web browser market.
Experts point to Amazon, which has massive financial resources, as a leading acquisition candidate, but since it is also under antitrust investigation, it is considered difficult for Amazon to actively pursue the acquisition. Therefore, there are opinions that AI companies like OpenAI have a higher possibility of acquiring Chrome.
If OpenAI acquires Chrome, it could link consumer-facing chatbot services like ChatGPT with Chrome and expand into distribution and advertising businesses.
