Department of Emergency Medical Services at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Visits Busan Fire & Disaster Headquarters Special Rescue Unit
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) Department of Emergency Medical Services recently conducted a field trip program to the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters Special Rescue Unit.
The tour, held on the 14th, was planned for EMS students to learn various special rescue techniques and equipment operation methods required at disaster response sites, enhancing their professional skills and gaining practical field experience.
In particular, beyond theory-centered education, the program provided an opportunity to experience actual rescue activities, laying the foundation for students to grow into future disaster response experts.
During the visit, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology EMS students experienced the importance of aerial rescue operations and practiced the use of equipment and response procedures required at special rescue sites, realizing the significance of on-site response. They also experienced the necessity of cooperation and rapid response at disaster scenes through collaboration with rescue dog handlers.
Students who participated in the tour said, “We were able to acquire practical skills and knowledge by experiencing various special rescue activities,” and added, “Through handling special rescue vehicles and advanced equipment, our goal to grow into firefighters with a sense of duty and professionalism has become clearer.”
Park Young-su, head of the EMS Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, stated, “Through cooperation with the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters Special Rescue Unit, we hope this meaningful opportunity allowed students to gain practical job experience and cultivate the professionalism and sense of duty necessary for disaster response,” and added, “We will continue to operate programs that allow students to experience various special rescue fields and strengthen their practical field capabilities.”
