Aliad Biopharma Secures Investment from Huons Group
- Accelerating Development of Innovative mTORC2 Inhibitors for Age-Related Disease Treatment
- Aiming to Strengthen Global Competitiveness through Collaboration with Huons Group
Aliad Biopharma has been finally selected in the Huons Group's 'Adventure Challenge 1st Batch' competition, accelerating the development of treatments for age-related diseases through an innovative mTORC2 inhibitor.
With this selection, Aliad Biopharma has attracted investment from Huons Group and plans to expand joint business partnerships in various fields, including the development of treatments and health functional food ingredients for age-related diseases such as sarcopenia and Alzheimer's dementia.
Aliad Biopharma moved into the Seoul Bio Hub Global Center in March this year to strengthen its research and development capabilities. In particular, with the support of Seoul Bio Hub, it has secured resources necessary for research and development and established a corporate-affiliated research institute at Kyung Hee University to accelerate the development of treatments for age-related diseases. Recently, it successfully completed pre-A series funding, laying the foundation for full-scale growth.
The age-related disease treatments under development by Aliad Biopharma are drugs effective for treating sarcopenia and Alzheimer's dementia related to aging through a differentiated mechanism that delays or reverses the aging clock. Especially, the Alzheimer's dementia treatment features a complex mechanism that increases the expression of longevity factors to improve cognitive function and suppresses the production of amyloid beta, the main cause of dementia.
Aliad Biopharma plans to conduct preclinical trials of its candidate drug for age-related sarcopenia treatment in earnest in 2025, and expects that this collaboration with Huons Group will lead to strengthened competitiveness in domestic and international markets.
