Goals for Nurturing Talent in Environmental, Social, and Governance Practices
Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Center held the completion ceremony for the ‘2024 Busan Sustainable Development University,’ co-hosted with the Busan Sustainable Development Council.
This program was designed to raise citizens' awareness of SDGs and B-SDGs, spread the value of sustainable development, and cultivate talent committed to practicing the SDGs.
From October, over four weeks and seven sessions, experts from various fields gave lectures on diverse topics such as SDGs, environment, society, economy, and systems at Dongseo University Jurye Campus.
At the completion ceremony, about 50 people including Jang Ju-young, Dean of the College of Design, Lee Myung-hee, Director of the SDGs Center, Lee Sung-geun, Co-chairman of the Busan Sustainable Development Council, Dongseo University students, and residents of Busan gathered together.
More than 60 citizens participated in this program, achieving a high completion rate of over 80%. Certificates of completion were awarded by the Busan Sustainable Development Council to 43 participants who met the completion requirements, and four outstanding students received special awards.
Lee Myung-hee, Director of Dongseo University SDGs Center, said, “Since this was the first time running the program, we had many expectations and concerns, but many people actively participated, and we hope for continued interest and support for sustainable development.”

Dongseo University plans to use this as an opportunity to further strengthen the practical awareness of sustainable development among Busan citizens and to promote various programs.
Dongseo University SDGs Center is conducting the 2024 Busan Sustainable Development University graduation ceremony.
