KCMT and Gyeryong Construction Declare Cooperation for a Sustainable Construction Industry
- KEco Bar: A New Turning Point in the Eco-Friendly Construction Materials Market
- A Strong Partnership Leading the Future Construction Market
KCMT (CEO Kim Jun-young) announced on November 7 that it signed a strategic partnership MOU at the headquarters of Gyeryong Construction Industry to realize eco-friendly construction and ESG management.
The agreement was attended by key personnel from both companies, including KCMT CEO Kim Jun-young and Gyeryong Construction CEO Yoon Gil-ho. Centered on eco-friendly construction and ESG management, this partnership will open a collaborative platform between the two companies and serve as an important milestone for sustainable construction.
‘KEco Bar,’ developed by KCMT, is an innovative rebar substitute made from recycled plastic that can significantly reduce environmental impact. It is a GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) new material reinforcement bar, with construction standards expected to be officially announced by the end of this year. While GFRP reinforcement bars were previously applied only to bridges, their application scope is expected to expand through national certification. KCMT and Gyeryong Construction plan to combine KEco Bar with Gyeryong Construction’s construction technology to expand the eco-friendly construction materials market and establish sustainable construction standards.
KCMT CEO Kim Jun-young emphasized, “This MOU is the first step toward a sustainable construction industry,” adding, “With KCMT’s innovative eco-friendly construction materials and Gyeryong Construction’s technological capabilities, we will set new standards in the global construction market, take a leading role in the eco-friendly construction materials market, and build a partnership to practice ESG management.”
