Chips&Media Receives TSMC 3nm Library... "Enhancing Customer IP Implementation Completeness"
Chips&Media, a global leader in video IP technology, officially announced on the 6th that it has received the 3nm library through TSMC. This enables Chips&Media IP to be synthesized and tested not only on TSMC's existing 5nm process but also on the 3nm process.
The library test allows customers to verify in advance the size at which Chips&Media IP can be implemented on TSMC's respective process before signing a contract, thereby significantly enhancing the ease of chip development.
Chips&Media stated, "This library is only available to TSMC IP ecosystem partners, and as advanced processes are rapidly evolving, we expect to receive the 2nm library to be developed in the future." They added, "Chips&Media has been recognized for its technological capabilities by consistently participating in TSMC's technology symposiums held in the U.S. as a long-standing Open Innovation partner and IP Alliance partner of TSMC."
In fact, TSMC's OIP is an innovative technology infrastructure spanning semiconductor design and manufacturing, playing a crucial role in lowering design barriers and increasing initial silicon success rates. By leveraging TSMC's IP, design implementation, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) capabilities, TSMC collaborates with partners to enable customers and partners within the semiconductor design ecosystem to rapidly adopt new technologies, shortening the time from design to mass production, market entry, and revenue generation.
The IP Alliance partners are a core element of OIP, expanding and strengthening TSMC's IP ecosystem through collaboration with leading global IP companies that provide IPs with extensive silicon verification and mass production experience.
