Phil Energy Signs Contract for Electrode Process Equipment... "Accelerating Customer Diversification"
Secondary battery equipment manufacturer Phil Energy has signed an equipment supply contract with a global top-tier customer. This order is for electrode process equipment, which precedes the main assembly process. As the new product, the 46-pie cylindrical battery winder, gradually expands its overseas customer base, the company is accelerating the diversification of its products and clients.
On the 30th, Phil Energy announced that it received an order for electrode process equipment from a global equipment company. Due to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), the customer's name and order amount were not disclosed. However, Phil Energy stated that both it and its parent company, Phil Optics, hold top-tier status in their respective business sectors.
Phil Energy has focused on assembly processes such as △ notching (a process that cuts only the necessary parts from electrode plates after the electrode process) and △ stacking (a lamination process that layers cathodes, anodes, and separators). With this order, the company is expected to officially enter the electrode process stage, which precedes the assembly process.
A Phil Energy representative said, “The customer who signed this contract was researching a laser-based method for handling core materials of secondary batteries and was looking for a partner to concretize this together. Our long-term supply history and excellent reputation not only in secondary batteries but also in displays and semiconductors greatly helped attract this global top-tier customer.”
Phil Energy completed the expansion of its second factory in the first half of this year. The second factory, with an annual production capacity of approximately 250 billion KRW, is equipped with a dry room. A dry room is a facility that controls the moisture level in the air below a certain threshold and is considered essential in next-generation battery processes. Having established this core infrastructure, the company is evaluated as a suitable collaboration partner.
The representative added, “Given the business structure of this customer, we expect synergy not only with Phil Energy but also with Phil Optics. We plan to grow as a long-term collaboration partner.”

With this order, Phil Energy has taken another step toward its goal of diversifying equipment and customers. The newly launched 46-pie cylindrical battery winder has already secured multiple overseas customers. As the 46-pie cylindrical battery industry is expected to expand, centered around Tesla, the possibility of additional clients is increasing. The slitting equipment showcased at the recent global battery exhibition held in Detroit, USA, is also expected to strengthen the diversification of equipment and customers.
