KOSPI Ends Slightly Lower Near 2600 Due to Foreign Selling... SK Hynix Up 3%
The KOSPI closed at the 2600 level due to net selling by foreigners. While the index was slightly down, SK Hynix rose more than 3%.

On the 17th, the KOSPI closed at 2609.30, down 1.06 points (0.04%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, individuals and institutions net bought 162.1 billion KRW and 200.1 billion KRW, respectively. On the other hand, foreigners net sold 403.8 billion KRW.
By sector, machinery jumped 4.51%. Construction also rose 1.72%. In addition, retail, medical precision, and service sectors closed slightly higher. Conversely, pharmaceuticals fell 2.40%. Insurance, food and beverages, textiles and apparel, steel and metals all declined by more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 59,700 KRW, up 200 KRW (0.34%) from the previous trading day. SK Hynix rose 3.87%. Meanwhile, Hyundai Motor and Kia fell 4.66% and 2.66%, respectively. LG Energy Solution, KB Financial Group, and NAVER all dropped more than 1%.
On this day, 359 KOSPI stocks rose without hitting the upper limit, while 515 stocks declined without hitting the lower limit. 64 stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 765.06, down 0.73 points (0.10%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, institutions net sold 26.7 billion KRW. Meanwhile, individuals and foreigners net bought 34.9 billion KRW and 2.7 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, medical and precision instruments, other manufacturing, entertainment and culture, pharmaceuticals, and retail closed slightly higher. Conversely, textiles and apparel fell 1.61%. Construction, finance, non-metallic minerals, and transportation sectors showed slight declines.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Alteogen closed at 384,000 KRW, down 2,000 KRW (0.52%) from the previous trading day. EcoPro BM, Enchem, and Celltrion Pharm all fell more than 1%. Meanwhile, Hugel rose 4.27%. Classys increased 3.52%. In addition, Rino Industrial and Rainbow Robotics closed slightly higher.
