RaonPeople "Detecting Car Fires and Disaster Precursors with Generative AI Technology"
Laon People announced on the 10th that it has developed a solution using generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology to detect early signs of fire or disaster and quickly provide response manuals.
The video surveillance solution ‘Laon Sentinel’ developed by AI specialist Laon People is an AI CCTV equipped with generative AI that detects subtle sparks, smoke, and movements in combination and triggers alarms. It is a technology designed to enable rapid on-site response by sending real-time reports on inspection items as well as response manuals tailored to the situation to the manager.
Laon Sentinel excels in early detection and analysis of subtle precursor signs ranging from large-scale disasters to crime prevention, construction, traffic, mechanical errors, and malfunctions through generative AI integration and proactive deep learning. It is optimized for locations with a high risk of large-scale casualties and requiring prompt response, such as apartments, department stores, and commercial spaces where many people gather, where recent electric vehicle fires have occurred. By transmitting precursor symptom videos and reports, it enables managers and fire authorities to respond quickly and effectively.
Lee Seok-jung, CEO of Laon People, explained, “Laon Sentinel uses cameras and Vision Language Model (VLM) to detect subtle smoke or flames early and send real-time reports according to accident types and risk factors. Through hybrid video surveillance and safety management, it can quickly respond to major accidents and minimize damage.”

He added, “We are on the verge of signing a main business contract after passing localization work and performance tests of Laon Sentinel with domestic large corporations. Recently, discussions related to the supply of Laon Sentinel are underway due to considerations for introducing video surveillance solutions for disaster management following typhoon and flood damage in Southeast Asian countries, so we expect to enter the global market this year.”
