"Quick Response Like in Real Situations"... Dong-eui Institute of Technology Department of Emergency Medical Technology Conducts Disaster Simulation Training
The Department of Emergency Medical Technology at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo, Head of Department Park Youngsoo) recently conducted a disaster tabletop exercise for third-year students, the school announced on the 11th.
During the training held from August 22 to 23, Lee Donggeun and Lee Gibyeong, emergency medical technicians from the Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) at Pusan National University Hospital, provided education to prospective emergency medical technicians at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology based on their field experience.
The disaster tabletop exercise is a simulation training designed to help participants respond swiftly and systematically to medical emergencies by simulating real disasters and mass casualty incidents. The training included emergency medical response manuals for disasters, severity classification and charting, and disaster site documentation.
Simulated disaster drills are also mandatory once or twice a year at government agencies, hospitals, and fire stations. The recent training at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was organized to closely resemble actual simulation drills by utilizing the latest disaster tabletop training equipment.
