KOSPI Slightly Lower Due to Foreigners' Net Selling... "Watchful Waiting Continues"
The KOSPI is slightly declining due to net selling by foreigners.
As of 10:08 AM on the 28th, the KOSPI recorded 2,681.36, down 7.89 points (0.29%) from the previous trading day.
On the 27th (local time), the New York stock market closed slightly higher ahead of NVIDIA's earnings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, focused on blue-chip stocks, closed at 41,250.5, up 9.98 points (0.02%) from the previous day. The S&P 500, centered on large-cap stocks, rose 8.96 points (0.16%) to 5,625.8, and the Nasdaq, focused on tech stocks, gained 29.06 points (0.16%) to close at 17,754.82.
In the domestic market, the KOSPI is slightly down due to net selling by foreigners. By investor type, foreigners sold a net 156.6 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions bought net 131.3 billion KRW and 19 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, construction, insurance, non-metallic minerals, and textiles/apparel are down more than 1%. Meanwhile, precision medical equipment is up 1.05%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 75,600 KRW, down 200 KRW (0.26%) from the previous day. Samsung SDI is up 2.96%, and Samsung Biologics is also rising by 1.13%. On the other hand, Shinhan Financial Group is down 3.18%, and KB Financial Group is down 2.51%. POSCO Holdings and NAVER are also down more than 1%.
The KOSDAQ recorded 766.47, up 1.52 points (0.20%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions sold net 46.8 billion KRW and 11.8 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, individuals bought net 52.5 billion KRW.
By sector, entertainment/culture, pharmaceuticals, other manufacturing, and chemicals are slightly rising. Conversely, paper/wood, non-metallic minerals, precision medical equipment, and general electricity sectors are slightly declining.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Alteogen traded at 316,000 KRW, up 1,000 KRW (0.32%) from the previous day. Rino Industrial and Silicon Two rose 2.82% and 1.77%, respectively. Meanwhile, Classys and Rainbow Robotics fell 3.18% and 2.38%, respectively. EcoPro BM, Samchundang Pharmaceutical, and Rigachem Bio are also down more than 1%.
