Shinsegae Centum City Launches 'Off-Season Fur' Marketing Campaign
Five Major Fur Brands Offer Up to 60% Off Until the 18th
'Midsummer Fashion Show'... Showcasing Over 50 Items from the 24FW Collection
Shinsegae Centum City is launching its "off-season fur" marketing campaign, starting with a fur fashion show, followed by brand-specific discounts and large-scale events at the event hall.
As high inflation continues to dampen consumer sentiment, demand for off-season shopping is increasing, allowing customers to purchase relatively expensive winter coats at prices lower than the regular season.
In fact, an analysis of Shinsegae Centum City’s monthly sales last year showed that fur sales in August were the highest after the winter season (December to February). Accordingly, this off-season event aims to respond to the growing summer demand for fur.
The event features five brands: Dongwoo Fur, Jindo Fur, Yoonjin Fur, DS Fur, and Sabbatie. For just three days over the weekend until the 18th, customers can purchase both new and previous season items at discounts ranging from 30% up to 60% at each brand’s store on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the department store.
In particular, some special and discontinued items are available in the 300,000 won range, and with a fur purchase, customers will receive generous gifts such as a muffler, hand warmer, or mink doll. At the same time, the “Jindo Fur Grand Sale” will be held at the event hall on the first basement floor until the 21st.
On the afternoon of the 16th, a fashion show titled "Summer, Meet Fur: FUR IN SUMMER" was held in the Culture Hall on the 9th floor, introducing the latest 24 FW fur trends. The five leading fur brands showcased over 50 fur pieces featuring a variety of colors and innovative pattern designs, drawing an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Notably, all of the furs featured in the fashion show are FURMARK-certified, guaranteeing compliance with animal welfare and international environmental standards, thereby presenting the sustainability of the fur industry, which is gradually shrinking due to ethical concerns.
Kim Hongil, head of the women’s team at Shinsegae Centum City, said, “This event is an opportunity to check out the latest trends in the fur industry and to purchase fur at affordable prices.”
