A sinkhole 3 meters deep was discovered on a walking trail near an apartment complex in Sejong City, prompting related agencies to undertake emergency restoration efforts.
According to Yonhap News on the 16th, a sinkhole measuring 4 meters wide and 3 meters long with a depth of 3 meters occurred on a park walking trail near an apartment in Eojin-dong that day.
On the 16th, ground subsidence occurred on a walking trail near an apartment in Sejong City, and related agencies are conducting emergency repairs.

A park management office employee discovered the sinkhole while patrolling the area and reported it. Fortunately, there were no casualties as no pedestrians were nearby at the time of the incident.
Immediately after receiving the report, the city installed control lines around the area and is carrying out restoration work. The city plans to investigate the exact cause of the sinkhole once the restoration is complete.
Meanwhile, sinkholes occur for various reasons such as soil erosion caused by rainwater infiltration and ground weakening due to damage to aging water and sewage pipes.
