"Foreigners and Institutions Net Selling"... KOSDAQ Plummets to 830 Level
The KOSDAQ index fell nearly 2% due to simultaneous net selling by foreigners and institutions, dropping to the 830 level.
On the 16th, the KOSDAQ recorded 837.47, down 15.41 points (1.81%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions net sold 134.7 billion KRW and 31 billion KRW, respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net bought 176.3 billion KRW.
By sector, chemicals and finance fell more than 2%, while general electric and electronics, machinery equipment, food and tobacco, publishing and reproduction, pharmaceuticals, and textiles and apparel all declined more than 1%. On the other hand, other manufacturing sectors showed slight gains.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM traded at 188,600 KRW, down 5,800 KRW (2.98%) from the previous trading day. Enchem also dropped 5.31%, while Alteogen and EcoPro fell more than 3%. Additionally, Celltrion Pharm and Rigakem Bio are down more than 2%. Conversely, Samchundang Pharm rose 5.56%, and Rino Industries is up 1.04%.
The KOSPI index recorded 2,862.09, up 1.17 points (0.04%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners net sold 47.6 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions net bought 34.2 billion KRW and 15.1 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, securities and distribution rose more than 1%. In contrast, chemicals fell 1.39%, and steel and metals and services sectors showed slight declines.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 87,800 KRW, up 1,100 KRW (1.27%) from the previous trading day. Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Shinhan Financial Group also rose more than 1%. Conversely, LG Energy Solution, NAVER, Samsung SDI, and LG Chem fell more than 2%, while Celltrion and POSCO Holdings declined more than 1%.
