Dobong-gu Installs and Operates 'Bongdalsaem Refrigerator' at Outdoor Heat Relief Shelters
Operating at 7 Locations Including Riverside from July 15 to August 14
Available to All Residents Exhausted by the Heat, One Bottle Provided Per Person
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will operate the ‘Bongdalsem Refrigerator,’ providing cool ice water at seven outdoor heat relief shelters in the area from July 15 to August 14.
The locations are ▲Under Nowon Bridge on Jungnangcheon Stream ▲Under Sanggye Bridge on Jungnangcheon Stream ▲Under Changdong Bridge on Jungnangcheon Stream ▲Under Ui 3 Bridge on Uicheon Stream ▲Around Suyu Bridge on Uicheon Stream ▲Entrance of Choansan Neighborhood Park (Changwon Elementary School Five-way Intersection) ▲Balbadak Park (in front of Flowering Forest Village).
Ice water will be supplied six times a day, with one bottle provided per person. The hygiene management of the refrigerator will be handled by the ‘Refrigerator Keepers’ volunteer group, which is composed of the district’s Autonomous Disaster Prevention Corps.
To promote environmental protection and recycling, a dedicated recycling bin for the Bongdalsem Refrigerator will also be installed. Empty bottles should be disposed of here.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Proper hydration is necessary during outdoor activities. We hope you replenish your fluids with cool ice water and relieve your thirst and heat.”
