An entertainer suspected of assaulting a citizen who reported him for suspected drunk driving is reportedly under police investigation.
The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 9th that they have booked entertainer A, in his 40s, and are investigating him on assault charges.
A is accused of driving under the influence for about 3 km from a restaurant in Gangnam-gu to his home in Seongdong-gu after drinking alcohol around 3:40 a.m. on the 2nd. He is also accused of assaulting the reporter by choking the reporter who reported the suspected drunk driving during this process.
According to the police investigation, A’s blood alcohol concentration was at the license cancellation level (0.08%), indicating a state of severe intoxication.
