Lotte Department Store Opens Summer Semester at Lotte Culture Center Featuring Han River Yacht Tour and More
Evening Classes Expanded by 20% Due to Popularity
Events Also Prepared Targeting Paris Sports Competition
Lotte Department Store announced on the 20th that it will start the Lotte Culture Center summer semester from the 1st of next month.
During the summer, when the days are longer, evening classes at the Culture Center are very popular. This is because the sun sets late in the summer, yet the evenings offer relatively cool weather.
In fact, the number of students attending evening classes during last year’s Lotte Culture Center summer semester (June to August) was about 1.5 times higher than that of the winter semester (December to February), when the days are shorter. Accordingly, Lotte Department Store has increased the number of evening classes by 20% compared to last year, preparing a more diverse lineup.
First, carefully selected outdoor classes that allow participants to experience the summer evening atmosphere outside the classroom will be offered. The representative class is the “Sunset Yacht Tour,” where participants can enjoy the sunset scenery of the Han River from a yacht. Wine and finger foods suitable for summer evenings are also served. Other classes include “Night Run,” where participants run together in a park and then share stories over simple beer; “Aldip Tea Cocktail,” where various teas and alcoholic beverages can be tasted at a famous tea bar; and “Summer Night National Museum Tour,” which offers a journey into the past with a professional guide at the National Museum of Korea.
Classes to prepare for special summer evenings will also be held. Especially this summer, with the world’s major sports event taking place in Paris, France, many customers are expected to watch games late at night and early in the morning. In response, Lotte Department Store has prepared classes such as “Making Late-Night Snacks,” which are light enough to eat late at night, and “Making Cocktails at Home,” which can be easily tried at home. Additionally, on the day of the Olympic opening ceremony, a special “Dom P?rignon Champagne Tasting” class will be held to celebrate.
The “Rooftop Seasonal Festival” is also planned. On the rooftops of the Gwangbok Branch (June 22) and the Main Branch Young Plaza (June 23), special classes to enjoy summer evenings will be offered from 4 p.m. to around 9 p.m. Representative classes include “Gwahaju Tasting,” where participants can learn about summer traditional liquor; “Painting Small Fruits,” where seasonal summer fruits are expressed through folk paintings; and “Fan Making” for children. Especially from around 7 p.m., “Rooftop Cinema” (Gwangbok Branch) and “Rooftop Jazz Performance” (Main Branch Young Plaza) will be held, allowing participants to enjoy movies and music under the summer evening sky.
