Ma Dong-seok Purchases Cheongdam-dong Villa for 4.3 Billion Won in Full Cash Payment
Ma Dong-seok, the lead actor of the movie series 'Crime City,' has recently attracted attention for purchasing a luxury villa in Cheongdam-dong. It is reported that he paid the entire amount of 4.3 billion KRW in cash.
On the 20th, Edaily reported that Ma Dong-seok bought a 296㎡ exclusive unit in Marknobil, located in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in 2022 for 4.3 billion KRW. The Cheongdam Marknobil complex, completed in 2008, consists of 12 households across three basement floors to seven above-ground floors, with large units ranging from 265 to 325㎡.
The complex has 24-hour security personnel on site, and the basement includes storage rooms for each household as well as a waiting room for drivers. Parking is available for up to four cars per household. Additionally, the area is highly regarded for its excellent educational environment, with nearby Cheongdam elementary, middle, and high schools, and it is known for offering a panoramic view of Cheongdam-dong, being just a five-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station.
Since there appears to be no mortgage registered on the title deed, it seems Ma Dong-seok purchased the villa entirely with cash. In 2017, he also bought a 66-pyeong apartment in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, called Nonhyeon Dongyang Paragon Apartment, for 1.925 billion KRW and lived there before moving to Marknobil. In mid-2023, he sold that apartment for 3.6 billion KRW, making a profit of about 1.7 billion KRW.
Meanwhile, 'Crime City 4,' in which Ma Dong-seok starred and participated as a producer, became the first Korean film series to achieve a 'triple 10 million' milestone. Released on the 24th of last month, 'Crime City 4' surpassed 10 million viewers on the morning of the 15th, its 22nd day since release, and attracted about 418,000 viewers over the past weekend, maintaining its position as the box office leader. The film's cumulative audience has reached approximately 10.659 million, and it is expected to soon surpass the final audience count of 'Crime City 3,' which was 10.68 million.
