"Rolled Up Sleeves to Protect Employees"... Dobong-gu Keeps Staff Personal Information Private on Homepage and Employee Placement Map
Delete Employee Names and Photos, Retain Positions, Duties, and Phone Numbers
Previously Assigned Security Guards, Distributed Wearable Cameras and Recorders
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has removed all employees' names and photos from the website and staff placement charts to protect staff from malicious complainants.
This measure aims to keep employees' personal information private to prevent phone complaints and personal information harassment.
A district official explained the decision to keep employee information confidential by saying, "Recently, incidents of terrorism, assault, stalking, and other accidents caused by malicious complainants have been continuous. This reflects the current reality of public service."
Although employees' names and photos were removed, information such as position, duties, and phone numbers remain to minimize inconvenience to complainants.
Earlier this month, the district deployed security guards in four neighborhoods with a high frequency of complaints to respond to illegal acts by malicious complainants. The district plans to conduct satisfaction surveys among employees and residents and aims to expand security guards to all neighborhoods in the future.
Additionally, following last year's distribution of two wearable cameras per neighborhood?portable protective devices in the form of necklaces?to protect complaint-handling public officials, the district distributed 30 wearable cameras and 450 recording devices embedded in employee ID cases to the complaint departments earlier this year.
