LG Electronics Proposes New Ways to Use Home Appliances Through Subscription Services
- Set the desired usage period for appliances for rational and convenient use
- LG Electronics unveils TVC ad, 'The Era of Subscribing to Appliances Has Arrived'
LG Electronics' 'subscription service' is attracting attention as a new paradigm for future home appliances.
In the past, it was common to purchase home appliances and use them for a long time, but now the home appliance market is shifting its focus to 'using appliances properly.'
LG Electronics' subscription service allows customers to choose desired appliances from a wide range of options, from large appliances such as washing machines, air conditioners, and TVs to lifestyle appliances like StanbyMe, HomeBrew, and Tiun. Along with product selection, users can set the usage period from 3 to 6 years according to their lifestyle, meeting the demand for hyper-personalization.
When subscribing to LG Electronics' home appliances, users can receive professional care services such as total internal and external cleaning, which are difficult to handle on their own. For products that can be self-managed, such as air purifiers, vacuum cleaners, and water purifiers, consumables are delivered on time according to personal choice, so users do not have to worry about replacing consumables one by one.
Additionally, a free warranty service is provided during the subscription period, allowing users to receive free inspections in case repairs or exchanges are needed due to manufacturing defects, alleviating users' concerns about malfunctions.
An LG Electronics official stated, “The paradigm of the home appliance market has shifted from ‘using appliances for a long time without breakdowns’ to ‘using them properly during the usage period.’ Subscription service is a new way to own and use appliances, enabling consumers to use various categories of appliances comfortably and without burden.”
In this regard, LG Electronics released a TVC campaign titled ‘The Era of Subscribing to Home Appliances’ on the 30th, and consumers have shown their expectations through responses such as “The era of subscribing to home appliances has arrived,” “Now LG home appliances can be subscribed to,” and “It’s great not having to worry about maintenance.”
