KOSPI Rises Over 1% on Foreign Net Buying... Recovers to 2740 Level
The KOSPI recovered the 2740 level, rising more than 1% due to net buying by foreigners.
On the 4th, the KOSPI closed at 2742.00, up 35.03 points (1.29%) from the previous trading day.
On that day, the index rose more than 1% to 2746.39 points due to simultaneous net buying by foreigners and institutions. However, the gain was partially given back as institutions switched to net selling near the end of the session.
By investor type, foreigners were net buyers of 586.7 billion KRW. Individuals and institutions were net sellers of 562.6 billion KRW and 17 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, transportation equipment and electrical electronics rose more than 2%. Additionally, medical precision, manufacturing, electric and gas, steel and metals, telecommunications, and finance all rose more than 1%. Conversely, textiles and apparel fell more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 85,300 KRW, up 1,200 KRW (1.43%) from the previous trading day. SK Hynix, Hyundai Motor, and Kia rose more than 4%, while Samsung SDI and KB Financial jumped more than 3%. On the other hand, Celltrion and LG Chem fell 0.50% and 0.12%, respectively.
On that day, 418 KOSPI stocks rose without any hitting the upper limit, 468 stocks fell without any hitting the lower limit, and 45 stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 882.90, up 2.94 points (0.33%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners were net buyers of 102 billion KRW, while individuals and institutions were net sellers of 28.7 billion KRW and 70.2 billion KRW, respectively.
By sector, semiconductors rose 3.74%, and IT components and chemicals rose more than 1%. Conversely, pharmaceuticals fell 1.74%, and publishing media, digital content, and others fell more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 246,500 KRW, up 1,000 KRW (0.41%) from the previous trading day. EO Technics surged 20.19%, and Enchem rose 5.84%. Additionally, Samchundang Pharmaceutical and Dongjin Semichem rose more than 1%. On the other hand, HLB and JYP Ent. fell 5.77% and 4.21%, respectively, and Alteogen also declined 2.40%. Furthermore, Rino Industrial and HPSP fell more than 1%.
