CTK Bio Signs Supply Contract with Charlotte City Tourism Office in the US
Beauty platform company CTK announced on the 4th that its subsidiary CTK Bio has signed a product supply contract with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA) in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Starting next month, CTK Bio will supply CRVA with finished food-related products such as cutlery, straws, and paper cups made from eco-friendly materials developed in-house.
Charlotte is considered the second largest financial city in the United States after New York. It hosts teams and stadiums for famous professional sports leagues such as the NFL (National Football League) and NBA (National Basketball Association), attracting many tourists who spend approximately 10 trillion KRW annually.
A CRVA representative stated, "We aim to lead the Sustainability Initiative in Charlotte, North Carolina," adding, "After a rigorous evaluation process, we formed a partnership with CTK Bio."
CTK Bio was recognized for its research facilities, analytical and data-driven approach, and competitiveness in terms of performance and price. CTK Bio’s products have obtained numerous certifications, including ‘OK Compost Home (biodegradability certification)’ from TUV AUSTRIA, Europe’s top testing and certification body, as well as approvals from the US FDA, Health Canada, global certification company SGS, US biodegradable plastics certification body RespirTek, and KOTITI Testing & Research Institute.
Starting in May, when CTK Bio begins full-scale product supply to CRVA, tourists visiting Charlotte will be able to use CTK Bio’s eco-friendly disposable cups, replacing existing plastic or hard-to-decompose PLA products. From July, CRVA plans to replace all cutlery sets, including spoons, forks, and knives, with CTK Bio’s products.
