Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it has been selected for the '2024 Seoul Metropolitan Government-District Education Support Cooperation Project' and secured a budget of 200 million KRW, taking the lead in the advancement of youth education.
This project, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, is conducted in a competitive format to discover various initiatives aimed at providing equal educational opportunities to youth in cooperation with district offices.
This year, the district proposed a diverse companion education program to help youth explore career paths and strengthen their capabilities, receiving high scores. Accordingly, the district secured a budget of 200 million KRW and will carry out the project under the theme, "Yeongdeungpo Youth Future Planning Camp Together with the City and District, Soaring Toward Dreams!"
The project proposed by the district consists of five programs.
The main contents include ▲“Compass Toward Dreams,” which offers customized counseling and mentoring to help youth experience various occupations and explore their aptitudes and interests ▲“Growing Together Future,” which provides educational and experiential opportunities to vulnerable youth in connection with the Seoul Run program to enhance self-efficacy ▲“Essential Competency Enhancement for the Future,” which offers digital literacy classes to help youth grow into safe and ethical digital citizens ▲“Leaders Innovating the Future,” which fosters creative talents in collaboration with youth organizations ▲and “New Possibilities in Safety Education,” where parents provide safety education to youth through the new format of musicals.
Through this project, the district aims to strengthen the capabilities of all youth to flexibly respond to future societal changes and create an environment where they can enjoy equal educational opportunities.
