Gwangjin-gu's 'Dahae Community' Selected for 2024 Seoul Public Project... 5 Local Daycare Centers Participating
Including Existing 3 Communities (Junggok, Jayang, Raon), Expanded to 4 Communities and 18 Centers This Year
Support for Overall Operations Including Management Council and Joint Program Development to Provide Quality Childcare Services
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) ‘Dahae Community’ has been finally selected for the ‘2024 Seoul-type Moa Daycare Center Contest Project’ targeting all autonomous districts in Seoul.
The Seoul-type Moa Daycare Center is a new integrated childcare model that groups 3 to 5 nearby public, private, and home daycare centers into one childcare community for operation.
Since the pilot project was introduced in 2021, 60 communities and 235 daycare centers located in Seoul have participated in the project. This year, 20 communities and 92 daycare centers were additionally selected.
When selected as a Moa Daycare Center, support is provided for overall community operation, including the operation of management councils within or between communities and the development of joint programs.
Also, through active information sharing via collaboration among daycare centers, high-quality childcare services can be provided to the children.
The newly selected ‘Dahae Community’ includes five daycare centers: Guui 2-dong Yale Daycare Center, Aiwanamu Daycare Center, Aijim Daycare Center, Pureunae Daycare Center, and Haeoreum Daycare Center.
Going forward, Gwangjin-gu will expand operations to a total of four communities and 18 daycare centers, including ▲ Junggok Community (5 centers) ▲ Jayang Community (4 centers) ▲ Raon Community (4 centers).
Gwangjin-gu plans to continuously promote participatory programs such as the ‘Together Program’ created by Moa Daycare Centers and the local community, and develop various community-linked programs reflecting regional characteristics.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Through the additional selection of the ‘Dahae Community,’ the collaboration system among daycare centers in the district will be further strengthened, and high-quality childcare services are expected to be provided.” He added, “Gwangjin-gu will continue to systematically operate Moa Daycare Centers amid the low birthrate crisis and create a childcare environment that is good for raising children.”
