"Will Develop as a Leading ESG Activity for Clean Oceans"
HiteJinro, celebrating its 100th anniversary, began its 2024 companion beach environmental cleanup activities at Dakmeore Coast in Jeju Island.
On the 20th, 20 executives and employees from HiteJinro Jeju Branch and Jeju City Ara General Social Welfare Center conducted marine litter collection activities at Dakmeore Coast in Jocheon-eup, Jeju City, and the nearby coastal road, the company announced on the 22nd. The trash collected during the companion beach cleanup activities carried out by HiteJinro will be used as data to address marine environmental issues.

This cleanup activity was conducted jointly with the local social welfare center with which HiteJinro has been communicating. In March last year, HiteJinro Jeju Branch signed a business agreement with Ara General Social Welfare Center to regularly support goods aimed at spreading a warm sharing culture in the local community.
Known for its proximity to Jeju Airport and beautiful sunsets, Jeju’s Dakmeore Coast has recently seen an increase in tourists, raising the need for cleanup activities. HiteJinro adopted Dakmeore Coast as a companion beach in May last year and conducted cleanup activities in June and September. Starting with this activity, HiteJinro plans to conduct cleanup activities at Dakmeore Coast once every quarter, totaling four times annually. In celebration of its 100th anniversary this year, HiteJinro is also considering adopting additional companion beaches.
