Everybot Files Korea's First Gesture Recognition AI Patent... "Commercializing AI Serving Robots"
Everybot is the first in the industry to commercialize an artificial intelligence (AI) serving robot.
Everybot announced on the 13th that it has filed two patents related to gesture recognition AI-based robot control methods.
These patents enable calling a serving robot based on gesture recognition AI technology, similar to raising a hand to call a waiter in a restaurant. The gesture recognition AI serving robot, showcased at last year's 'RoboWorld' exhibition, has improved the entire gesture recognition process using deep learning, doubling the accuracy compared to previous versions.
Additionally, the gesture recognition AI used in the serving robot can be customized to fit customer environments, making it applicable in various fields. Mobile robots in large logistics warehouses and smart factories can be commanded to perform desired actions based on workers' gestures.
Since 2021, Everybot has been accelerating the development of service robots that integrate innovative technologies such as AI, IoT (Internet of Things), and big data through the establishment of the AI Convergence Technology Research Institute. Based on these patents, the commercialization of AI serving robots is expected to gain momentum. Currently, a dedicated testbed for F&B stores is being established, and PoC (Proof of Concept) is underway for commercialization.
A company representative stated, “The patents related to gesture recognition AI are significant as they are the first secured in the industry,” and added, “Everybot has the ambition and plan to ultimately develop service robots that judge and act like humans.”
