New Resident Registration Card Issuance for Youth Delivered with Wallet-Style Congratulatory Card
Gangdong-gu Delivers Congratulatory Cards to Youth Receiving New Resident ID Cards... Includes Useful Information on Youth Facilities and Support Policies
Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) will deliver congratulatory cards containing congratulatory messages along with the resident registration cards to 17-year-old youths in the area who are receiving their first-ever resident registration cards.
The district has been promoting the "Youth Congratulatory Card Delivery Project" since the second half of last year to convey the community's congratulations and support to youths receiving their resident registration cards for the first time. Last year, a total of 712 youths received congratulatory cards.
Unlike last year, when the cards were made in postcard form, this year they have been newly designed as wallet-sized cards that fit in one hand, allowing the resident registration card to be inserted into the congratulatory card for use.
When the resident registration card is inserted into the congratulatory card, it is exposed through a cut-out section on the front of the card. The front of the congratulatory card contains a message congratulating the prospective adults receiving their first resident registration card, while the back includes a QR code that allows easy access to various information about youth policies and facilities via mobile devices.
The newly designed wallet-style congratulatory cards will be delivered to youths receiving their first resident registration cards starting from March of this year.

Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, "The 'Youth Congratulatory Card Delivery Project' started from the idea of Gangdong-gu staff to make the first experience of receiving a resident registration card?a rite of passage from youth to adulthood?not just an administrative procedure, but a moment to share the community's congratulations. I hope the congratulatory cards delivered along with the resident registration cards become precious memories for youths, showing them the support of the community."
