China Issues Licenses for Three Korean Games Including Nexon's 'Dungeon & Fighter Mobile'
The Chinese government has issued foreign-invested game licenses (permission to operate games within China) for three domestic mobile games.
According to the industry on the 2nd, the National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) of China recently granted foreign-invested game licenses to 32 foreign games. Among them are domestic games such as Nexon's Dungeon & Fighter Origin, Neowiz's Cat and Soup, and Netmarble's The King of Fighters Allstar.
Dungeon & Fighter Origin received its license under the title Jihaseong Yeoyongsa: Giwon. This is presumed to be a newly issued license, separate from the Dungeon & Fighter Mobile license Nexon obtained in 2017, although the platform is listed as "mobile" in both cases.
Cat and Soup is an idle mobile game developed by HiDeer, a subsidiary of Neowiz. In May last year, Neowiz signed a publishing contract with Kingsoft Siyou, a subsidiary of China's Kingsoft. Founded in 2016, Kingsoft Siyou is a game company under Kingsoft, China's largest software company, engaged in online game development, global publishing operations, and investments.
