Dong-Eui University of Science and Technology Holds Workshop on Developing Curriculum for International Students
The Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) held a workshop on developing an educational curriculum for international students on the 3rd at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Busan.
This workshop was conducted to develop an appropriate curriculum for international students prior to opening the international student program, with 17 participants including industry professionals from the automotive sector.
At the event, the first topic was presented by Yoo Kyung-hye, the director of the Yangsan Foreign Workers Support Center, under the theme "Understanding Foreign Workers and International Students." The second topic was delivered by Choi Soo-duk, the representative of Renault Korea Seodaesin Branch, on "Employment Vision and Strategies for International Students." The final topic was presented by Professor Lee Jong-ho, who is in charge of recruiting international students in the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, titled "Current Status of International Student Recruitment and Curriculum Overview."
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology plans to open the international student program in the first semester of 2024 and aims to finalize the curriculum for international students by February.
Kang Dong-kwon, head of the Department of Electric Vehicles, stated, "Universities are facing great difficulties in recruiting new students due to the sharp decline in the school-age population. Especially in engineering colleges, where recruiting new students is even more challenging, attracting international students is expected to be a case that can overcome these difficulties." He added, "The Department of Electric Vehicles will also strive to use international student recruitment as an opportunity to improve the quality of education and employment."

Established in 1995, the Department of Automotive at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology has produced over 5,000 automotive industry professionals to date and is actively engaged in various workforce development projects such as the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Future Automotive Field Workforce Training Project," the Ministry of Employment and Labor's "Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students" and "Cheonghaejin University Project," and Busan City's "BB21+ Eco-friendly Automotive Workforce Training Project."
