[Featured Stock] Actro Develops World's First Graphene Semiconductor in China... Graphene Technology Spotlighted↑
Actro is gaining momentum. The company is attracting attention following news that China has developed the world's first semiconductor using graphene, and Actro possesses graphene coating technology.
As of 11:17 AM on the 5th, Actro is trading at 8,450 KRW, up 6.83% compared to the previous day.
According to industry sources, a research team from Tianjin University in China authored a paper titled "Superconducting Graphene Semiconductor on Silicon Carbide (SiC)." The paper was published in the international journal Nature. According to the paper, the graphene semiconductor developed by Tianjin University demonstrated electrical conductivity ten times superior to current silicon-based semiconductors.
Graphene is a carbon-based nanomaterial composed of carbon atoms. It has excellent electrical conductivity and features high mechanical strength while being flexible. Due to its outstanding conductivity, it is suitable for use as a semiconductor material. However, it has the drawback of having no or a very small bandgap (the energy gap between bands), which prevents electron blocking, making it difficult to use as a semiconductor material.
To address the bandgap issue, the Tianjin University research team explained that they grew epitaxial graphene on the surface of silicon carbide wafers.
Meanwhile, in April 2022, Actro acquired patents and know-how related to "porous graphene coating technology" from the Korea Institute of Energy Research. Currently, this technology is used in silicon anode materials, which are next-generation anode materials for secondary batteries.
