Dong-A University Department of Biomedical and New Materials Physics Awarded Busan Future Scientist Award
Students from the Department of Biomedical Science and the Department of New Materials Physics at Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) received the 19th Busan Future Scientist Award.
The Busan Future Scientist Award is presented by Busan City and the Busan Science and Technology Council to nurture the next generation of scientific talent in the Busan region, following a review by a judging committee.

View original imageJeon Je-seok, a master's student in the Graduate School of Biomedical Science at Dong-A University (advisor Professor Kang Tae-hong), received the Excellence Award in the Science category for master's students, while undergraduate students Yoon Seo-young and Yoo Jun-ho from the Department of Biomedical Science (advisor Professor Im Sun-hee) received the Excellence Award in the Science category for university students.
Additionally, Son Young-seo and Hwang Min-seok from the Department of New Materials Physics (advisor Professor Moon Han-eol) were honored with the Excellence Award in the Engineering category for university students for their paper titled "Research on Liquid Metal-Based Circuits for Stretchable Electronic Devices."
Jeon, the master's student, was recognized for publishing a research paper in a renowned academic journal that identified the optimal timing for anticancer treatment, improving patients' quality of life and treatment efficacy.
Undergraduate students Yoon Seo-young and Yoo Jun-ho (advisor Professor Im Sun-hee) were highly evaluated for publishing the paper "Novel strategy of multiple-locus variable number tandem repeats analysis for genetic fingerprinting of human" in Genes and Genomics and for presenting posters at the Korean Genetics Society and the Japanese Molecular Biology Society.
Jeon, the master's student, said, "I was able to continue my research steadily because excitement outweighed fear. I am grateful to Professor Kang Tae-hong, who guided me excellently, and to my lab colleagues," adding, "I will strive to contribute to the advancement of science."
Son Young-seo said, "I am honored to receive the Busan Future Scientist Award and thankful to my advisor," and expressed gratitude to the team members who silently supported what would have been difficult to accomplish alone.

The award ceremony was recently held at the 12th-floor International Conference Room of Busan City Hall, attended by related officials.
