AI Webtoon Production Company Partners with 'Imanbae'... "Aiming to Reduce Production Time by 5 Times"
Toonsquare-Notilus Business Agreement
AI Solutions Expand Knowledge Webtoon Market
Toonsquare, the operator of the AI webtoon production solution 'Tooning,' is partnering with Nautilus, the operator of the knowledge webtoon platform 'Imanbae (Learn This? Through Comics?!),' to jointly develop educational webtoons.
Last month, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand the AI webtoon production solution into the knowledge webtoon creation market.
Imanbae launched its knowledge webtoon platform last year and currently holds over 130 works and internal IP. Within eight months, its knowledge YouTube channel 'Knowledge Imanbae' achieved 100,000 subscribers (Silver Play Button), securing a strong fan base.
Under this agreement, Toonsquare plans to use generative AI to collaborate with Imanbae and distribute Toonsquare’s own IP through Imanbae.
Lee Ho-young, CEO of Toonsquare, stated, "Our goal is to optimize the necessary production processes with AI technology through our AI webtoon production solution, reducing the time required by creators by more than five times compared to before."
Lee Sung-up, CEO of Nautilus, said, "AI is rapidly advancing even in the creative field, and through cooperation with Toonsquare, we will lead change in knowledge webtoon creation."
Nautilus was founded in 2021 by Lee Sung-up, former CEO and founding member of Lezhin Comics. Through the knowledge webtoon platform 'Imanbae' and the YouTube channel 'Knowledge Imanbae,' it delivers knowledge content targeting people in their 20s. It is rapidly growing, expanding into the Southeast Asian market with educational comics production.
