234 Circulating Librarians Who Visited Over 600 Small Libraries Nationwide Share Their Stories
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold the '2023 Small Library Itinerant Librarian Support Project Final Workshop' at the Seoul Museum of History on the 16th and 17th.
Since 2010, the Ministry has been sending itinerant librarians to public libraries every year to support the operation of small libraries. They assist with collection management and practical training for reading culture program operators. This year, 234 itinerant librarians toured over 600 small libraries nationwide. According to a 2022 survey, out of 6,899 small libraries nationwide, 788 were operated by librarians.
At the workshop, 260 itinerant librarians from across the country and small library managers from their respective regions will gather to review the current status of small library revitalization. Excellent activity cases such as Seoul Haengbokteo Small Library, Kkumkkuneun Small Library, Sejong Dodam Punggyeongchae Small Library, and Chungnam Buyeo Rabok Library will also be discussed.
