Seongdong-gu Opens 239-Space Public Parking Lot at Ttukseom Old Sampyo Site Seongsu Culture and Arts Square
From the 15th of this month, a temporary public parking lot with a total of 239 spaces has been created on the Sampyo Remicon site transformed into a cultural leisure space... The second largest in Seongdong-gu, it meets parking demand for performance attendees and visitors to the Seoul Forest area
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) will begin operating a temporary public parking lot with a total of 239 spaces on the former Sampyo Remicon site, which has been transformed into Seongsu Culture and Arts Square and reopened as an open cultural space on the 15th of this month.
The 'Seongsu Culture and Arts Square Temporary Public Parking Lot,' which will be fully operational from the 15th, covers an area of 10,381㎡ and can accommodate a total of 239 vehicles. Since the roads surrounding the site experience heavy vehicle traffic, the parking lot is equipped with two entry lanes and three exit lanes to enhance convenience for entering and exiting.
The parking fee is 150 KRW per 5 minutes (1,800 KRW per hour), allowing not only performance attendees but anyone to use the parking on an hourly basis. It is planned to operate temporarily for about two years until development work on the site begins.
Seongdong-gu expects that by establishing the temporary public parking lot at Seongsu Culture and Arts Square, it will improve parking convenience for visitors, contribute to the cultural tourism industry, prevent illegal parking issues near Seoul Forest, and aid in the development of the local commercial district.
