The Genesis Award winner is granted a bonus prize of 100 million KRW, a vehicle, a five-year Korean Tour exemption, direct qualification to the final stage of the PGA Korn Ferry Tour Q-School, and 16 starts on the DP World Tour.
This is Kim Young-su's attempt at a second consecutive victory. Last year, he won his first career title at this tournament, laying the foundation for winning the season's money title and the Genesis Award. Kim Young-su said, "Since this is the first time in my golf career that I am defending a title, I have high expectations and excitement. Although there is some pressure, I think it will be fun," and expressed confidence, adding, "I have made thorough preparations to compete in the best condition for the most important tournament of this season."
Ham Jeong-woo is aiming for his second consecutive win. He is on an upswing after winning the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Choi Kyung-ju Invitational last week, his first victory in two years. He currently leads the Genesis Award points (4,861.42 points) and has the lowest average score (70.295 strokes). Ham Jeong-woo said, "This year, I have advanced to the final rounds in all tournaments. I want to give myself a high score for that," and added, "To win the Genesis Award, achieving a good result in this tournament seems most important," showing his determination.
