'LG Family Inheritance Dispute' Three Sisters' Lawyer Resigns After First Hearing
As the inheritance-related lawsuit filed by the three women of the LG family against Koo Kwang-mo, chairman of LG Group, is underway, the legal representatives of the three women resigned after the first hearing.

View original imageAccording to the legal community on the 10th, Kim Young-sik, the late Koo Bon-moo's wife, and their two daughters, Koo Yeon-kyung, CEO of LG Welfare Foundation, and Koo Yeon-soo, filed a lawsuit to reclaim inheritance against Chairman Koo. Kang Il-won, the lead attorney of the law firm K-One Chamber, who served as their legal representative, and his son, attorney Kang Kyu-sang, submitted their resignation on the 6th. This means they resigned immediately after the first hearing of the lawsuit held on the 5th.
In May, three attorneys from the law firm Logos?Bae In-gu, Cho Young-wook, and Sung Joo-kyung?who were among the legal representatives for the three women, also resigned. Currently, five attorneys from the law firm Haegwang?Eun Yeon-ji, Lim Sung-geun, Kwak Jae-wook, Lim Jae-hoon, and Kim Dong-min?remain as legal representatives for the three women.

The three women filed the lawsuit to reclaim inheritance against Chairman Koo on February 28. The late Koo Bon-moo, who passed away in May 2018, left behind assets worth approximately 2 trillion won, including 11.28% of LG shares. Among these, Chairman Koo inherited an 8.76% stake, while the three women received some LG shares and personal assets of the late chairman worth about 500 billion won.
