Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, will hold the Gyeongnam Provincial Arts Troupe touring performance "Premium Gugak Performance with Gyeongnam Gugak Orchestra Hyu (休)" at the Songhakdong Tumuli on the 6th.
The performance is part of the "2023 Gyeongnam Provincial Arts Troupe Touring Performance Project," which aims to expand cultural and artistic enjoyment opportunities for residents and foster regional cultural arts. Gyeongsangnam-do selects outstanding art groups within the province every year to visit culturally underserved areas and present high-quality cultural and artistic performances.
The performance will commemorate the UNESCO World Heritage registration of the Songhakdong Tumuli in Goseong and celebrate the 46th Sogaya Cultural Festival. The program includes ▲ Part 1: Madanggeuk (traditional Korean outdoor play) "The Blind Feast is a Celebration" with the Gwangdae Nol-eum Tteiru ▲ Part 2: Gugak orchestral performances such as "The Spirit of Goguryeo," a combination of chang (traditional Korean singing) and orchestral music, gugak songs, and the percussion concerto "Storm."
Oh Se-ok, Director of the Culture and Tourism Division, said, "We are very pleased to host the Gyeongnam Provincial Arts Troupe's touring performance in our county," adding, "We hope this performance will be a meaningful time for residents to enjoy our familiar gugak."
