"Thanks to Lim Young-woong, I Forget the Pain of Lou Gehrig's Disease"…Grandmother Fan's Donation Sparks Attention
Cumulative Donations Surpass $10,000
Singer Lim Young-woong's 'American grandmother fan' practiced good influence by donating for low-income children in her homeland.
According to the Sejong Regional Headquarters of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, Mrs. Sue Taylor (79), well known as Lim Young-woong's American grandmother fan, donated $1,000 (about 1.35 million KRW) on the 26th of last month, ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Mrs. Sue Taylor conveyed her wish to her children in Korea to "support children in the homeland instead of birthday presents" in line with Chuseok, the national ethnic holiday, and her lunar birthday on August 15.
Mrs. Sue Taylor expressed, "Donating to children in my homeland in the name of my favorite singer Lim Young-woong is the greatest reward and pride."
Despite being bedridden, Mrs. Taylor's two children honored their mother's wish to think of the underprivileged children in their homeland and generously donated. Mrs. Sue Taylor, who is battling ALS, has been steadily practicing sharing by donating a total of $10,000 over six times since February last year, coinciding with Lim Young-woong's birthday and debut date.
