Fuel Cell with Enhanced Efficiency Selected for Hydrogen Innovation Technology Award
The organizing committee of the international hydrogen exhibition H2MEET announced on the 14th that Mikopower's high-efficiency solid oxide fuel cell was selected as the grand prize winner of the H2 Innovation Award, which recognizes the best innovative technology.
This award is hosted by the event organizing committee and jointly sponsored by H2 Korea, the Korea Energy Agency, and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. This year, over 40 companies participated in the competition, and a panel of industry experts evaluated the entries across four categories: innovation, technology, marketability, and growth potential.
Mikopower, recipient of the H2 Innovation Award at the international hydrogen exhibition H2MEET, for its solid oxide fuel cell
Mikopower's fuel cell is a solid oxide fuel cell with a power generation efficiency of 63.3%, holding the highest certified performance record in Korea. The organizing committee explained that it received high praise for developing the entire production process?from single cells to stacks and systems?with proprietary technology and successfully achieving mass production.
The product allows for modularization, enabling flexible increases in power generation capacity. It improves efficiency by preventing residual energy waste and also ensures durability. Ha Tae-hyung, CEO of Mikopower, said, "We expect to open a new horizon in fuel cell operation rates and economic feasibility."
On the afternoon of the 13th, award recipients are taking a group photo at the H2 Innovation Awards ceremony held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The Best Award in the hydrogen production sector went to JM International for its hydrogen production reforming catalyst, and the Best Award in the hydrogen storage and transportation sector was awarded to the Korea Carbon Industry Promotion Agency for its composite pressure vessel for high-pressure hydrogen transportation. The Best Award in the hydrogen utilization sector was given to Doosan Fuel Cell for its hydrogen fuel cell 5CSA. The Excellence Awards were presented to Lightbridge (modular water electrolysis system and stack), Emerson (hydrogen water electrolysis device application ‘Emerson Digital Twin’), Hydrolux (home emergency generator), and Samjung ENC.
