Eastar Air Introduces B737-8... Secures 4 Next-Generation Aircraft
Eastar Jet announced on the 10th that its B737-8 model arrived at Gimpo International Airport on the night of the 9th. This aircraft is the airline's 8th plane (HL8544) and the fourth next-generation aircraft.
Following the 4th aircraft in June and the 6th and 7th aircraft in August, this B737-8 is the latest newly manufactured aircraft delivered to the airline for the first time. This model has a longer maintenance cycle and shares over 70% compatibility in parts and maintenance with the B737-800NG. With this introduction, the average age of Eastar Jet's fleet has been reduced to under 6 years.
On the 9th, Eastar Jet CEO Jo Jung-seok and employees commemorated the introduction of the 8th aircraft (HL8544) with a commemorative photo.
The fuel efficiency of the B737-8 has improved by more than 15% compared to the B737-800NG model, resulting in fuel savings and an increased flight range of over 1,000 km, allowing a maximum range of up to 6,570 km. Engine noise has been reduced, and the utilization of cabin space is also high.
