Yoon Hyung-jung, President of Korea Airports Corporation, Seeks Cooperation for Latin America Overseas Projects
Meeting with Rafael Echevarne, Secretary General of ACI Latin America
Yoon Hyung-jung, President of Korea Airports Corporation, met with Rafael Echevarne, Secretary General of the Airports Council International (ACI) Latin America and Caribbean region, on the 7th to discuss cooperation plans for overseas airport projects in Latin America.
Both organizations agreed to mutually cooperate in discovering new projects linked to the corporation's overseas projects in Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, as well as in operating training programs. Secretary General Rafael expressed interest in the corporation's UAM (Urban Air Mobility) and suggested exploring cooperation plans for building vertiports in the Caribbean region, which has many islands and mountainous areas with insufficient ground transportation infrastructure.

He stated, "There will be many areas to promote projects by applying the corporation's know-how in operating small and medium-sized airports, overseas business capabilities, and smart airport technologies to new airports in Latin America," and added, "We hope for active participation of the corporation's experts in the next ACI LAC-related events."

President Yoon said, "Based on the corporation's core competencies such as overseas airport construction, navigation equipment exports, and UAM, we will establish an overseas airport business model that provides total solutions and actively expand new airport projects in the Latin American region," requesting ACI's considerable interest and support. He also asked for support in attracting the 2030 Busan Expo.
