Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is the only autonomous district in Seoul currently implementing a 'proactive intensive management and support system for reclusive case subjects.'
This aims to help socially reclusive individuals reintegrate into society and prevent indiscriminate crimes through proactive prevention and management of high-risk cases, which has received positive responses from participants and strong interest from the local community.
The district operates the Dobong Healing School to provide daily life experiences such as grocery shopping, cooking classes, and organizing and storage to individuals with reclusive tendencies, helping them become independent members of society.
Additionally, Dobong Hope Vaccine 23 is run to provide focused education on anger, impulse control, stress management, and relief methods for reclusive individuals with mental illnesses causing local anxiety, such as alcoholism, schizophrenia, and violence. A dedicated mental health case manager is also assigned to quickly respond in crisis situations.
Furthermore, the district is actively strengthening practical preventive measures tailored to its characteristics to ensure residents' safety.
To build crime prevention infrastructure, CCTV is being expanded in mountainous parks and vulnerable safety areas, and the intelligent surveillance system is being enhanced through replacement and expansion of state-of-the-art CCTV.
For the safe return of vulnerable groups such as women, the Women’s Safe Return Paths are being reorganized and expanded, and crime opportunities are preemptively blocked through on-site monitoring by the Alleyway Monitoring Team, a public-private-police cooperative.
