To Save on Air Conditioner Electricity Bills... Turn It on Strongly at First to Quickly Lower the Temperature
Inverter Types Should Be Kept On After Turning On to Save Electricity Costs
More Effective When Using Curtains and Fans Together
For inverter-type air conditioners released since 2011, experiments have shown that keeping the unit running after turning it on once helps save electricity bills more than repeatedly turning it off and on.
According to SBS coverage on the 6th, in a household using an inverter-type air conditioner set to a desired temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, the power consumption rose to 3352W when the air conditioner was turned on, then gradually decreased to 5W once the desired temperature was reached.
This is because the inverter-type air conditioner uses maximum power until it reaches the desired temperature, then reduces the rotation speed to maintain the temperature. Therefore, when operating an inverter-type air conditioner, starting with a strong wind to quickly lower the indoor temperature and then maintaining it with a weak wind can save more on electricity bills.
On the other hand, for fixed-speed air conditioners, since power consumption remains constant, turning the unit off once the room cools down and turning it back on when it gets hot again helps save electricity bills.
There are also various other ways to save on air conditioner electricity costs. First, it is good to briefly open windows for ventilation after running the air conditioner. Since the air conditioner intakes indoor air and outputs cold air, ventilating to release the hot air inside the room allows the air conditioner to operate more efficiently.
Blocking direct sunlight with curtains can prevent cold air loss around windows, and using a fan together improves air circulation, allowing the temperature to drop quickly.

Finally, it is important to clean the air conditioner filter once every 1 to 2 weeks. If dust accumulates heavily on the filter, it can cause operational problems and negatively affect respiratory health.
