Busan Gijang-gun Supports Customized Educational Expenses by School... Annual Scale of 7.7 Billion KRW
Busan Gijang-gun is promoting the "School Customized Education Expense Support Project" with an annual budget of 7.7 billion KRW to foster local talent and improve the educational environment.
The project accepts applications for necessary programs within the upper limit for each school to provide customized support that reflects the characteristics of each school. This year, approximately 2.7 billion KRW is being supported for 136 projects across 37 elementary, middle, high, and special schools.
Additionally, efforts to improve the school educational environment include supporting ▲16 billion KRW for the county’s share of free school meals ▲2.3 billion KRW for purchasing high-quality food ingredients ▲100 million KRW for school sports teams ▲700 million KRW for kindergarten support ▲95 million KRW for operating elementary school survival swimming education.
Besides the education expense support project, the county is providing 3.4 billion KRW for educational programs aimed at talent development, including ▲15 million KRW for the Gijang Hope Dream Tree Mentoring Project pairing university student mentors with elementary and middle school mentees ▲2.2 billion KRW for English education specialization projects ▲210 million KRW for creative science experience projects.
It also contributes to alleviating parents’ educational expenses by supporting ▲590 million KRW for new middle and high school students’ uniforms ▲500 million KRW in scholarships for elementary, middle, high school, and university students.
Starting in 2024, various educational support policies will be implemented to improve educational conditions, including providing entrance congratulatory funds for new students entering elementary, middle, and high schools.
