Daesung Energy Delivers Samgyetang to 130 Low-Income Elderly Households in Daegu Jung-gu Area
Daesung Energy (CEO Yoon Hong-sik) and the Daegu branch of the Korean Red Cross (Chairman Park Myung-soo) carried out the ‘Dundeun Samgyetang’ sharing activity on the 4th at the Red Cross Daegu branch, preparing samgyetang, a summer health food, and delivering it to 130 low-income elderly and vulnerable households in Jung-gu, Daegu.
The Dundeun Samgyetang sharing program, which started in 2014 and has continued for 10 years, supports samgyetang to comfort low-income elderly and vulnerable groups exhausted by the heat and help them have a healthy summer.

View original imageAbout 20 employees from Daesung Energy and the Red Cross Daegu branch, along with volunteers from the Red Cross Volunteer Society Jung-gu District Council (Chairman Park Tae-boon), participated in this sharing activity. They carefully cooked samgyetang from early morning, packaged it together with kimchi and sikhye, and personally visited low-income elderly and vulnerable households in Jung-gu to deliver the meals and check on their well-being.
Jang Hyun-soo, an employee of Daesung Energy who participated in the activity, said, “Due to the abnormal high temperatures caused by El Ni?o, a heatwave is expected this summer as well, but I hope all the local elderly can replenish their energy with health food and overcome the heat well.” He added, “I am glad to practice sharing while communicating closely with local residents through volunteer activities.”
