In May of last year, Samsung Display sent a protest letter to BOE regarding patent infringement, and in December of the same year, it filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) against U.S. parts wholesalers, requesting that they stop using parts and panels that infringe its patents. In response, BOE filed a countersuit in May of this year at the Chongqing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court, alleging patent infringement against Samsung Display’s China subsidiary and Samsung Electronics’ China subsidiary.
