(Foundation) Seegene Medical Foundation Daejeon Chungcheong Testing Center Relocates to New Building... Established as a Specialized Space for Specimen Testing
Last year, the Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center of Seegene Medical Foundation (Chairman Cheon Jong-gi), a specialized medical institution for disease testing that contributed to preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions, relocated to a new building located in Mannyeon-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City, to provide higher quality specimen testing services, and began specimen testing operations on the 19th.
The new building of the Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center was established based on testing facilities and specialized workspaces to perform comprehensive specimen testing including clinical chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, hematology, microbiology, molecular microbiology, and pathology tests. The total floor area is 10,437㎡ (3,756 pyeong), with 2 basement floors and 6 above-ground floors. The design incorporated spatial planning and flow lines considering the future expansion of the foundation’s testing capabilities. In particular, the new building applies an advanced IBS (Intelligent Building System), organically linking devices that control lighting, illumination, temperature, ventilation, and air supply and exhaust to create a more comfortable, safe, and eco-friendly working environment.
The Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center will focus on emergency and day-night testing at the new building and plans to enhance clinical support services for medical institutions in the Daejeon and Chungcheong regions. Additionally, to ensure perfect testing quality, the center will secure specimen stability through real-time specimen transport within the region and conduct thorough quality control management.
Furthermore, the new building features a large conference room on the 6th floor that can accommodate up to 130 people, where regular academic events with local field experts and academia will be held. The first floor space of the new building will be developed as a complex cultural space for Daejeon citizens, aiming to pursue coexistence with the local community.
Gu Seon-hoe, CEO of the Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center, expressed his thoughts on the relocation, saying, “We will continue to make efforts to improve testing quality so that the new building of the Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center can establish itself as a space for the health and happiness of our region, and we will diligently look for ways to contribute to the local community.” He added, “I ask for your interest and encouragement so that the Daejeon-Chungcheong Testing Center, which is starting vigorously, can grow healthily.”
